Our lesson plans include science activities geared towards preschool children. The children will sort the ocean animals and glue them onto the take home sheet to show mommy and daddy what they have been learning all week.
Our cute seahorse craft for the children was made using a paper plate and painting it blue and gluing on some green Easter grass but pieces of green yarn or strips of green paper could be used instead. The children will color the seahorse and glue them to the blue paper plate {ocean}. Painting, coloring and gluing are fun ways for the children to use their fine motor skills.

Print out the bluebird at the beach story, it's a fun story that teaches colors and a few beach animal names as his freinds in the story are a sand dollar, a starfish and a clam. They have tons of fun when bluebird finds some makers that is, until their mommys see them different colors, cute story for teaching colors.
The starfish cards will be used with our starfish color match up with the pompoms and they are also used in our starfish song, print out one starfish for each child to use in the song, the starfish can also be printed out black and white and colored.

Our lesson plans include fun hands on activities for the children. During circle time the children will make ice cones on the felt board. Our lesson plans include fun hands on learning activities and games to help teach June's numbers, letters, colors and shapes!
During the summer months we work on reviewing the letters, shapes, colors and numbers the children were learning during the school year.
The children will work on learning their letters by making an ABC book with the letters A – I and on each page the children will trace the letter and then color a picture for each letter they are learning {or reviewing} this month. Such as for the letter Aa they will trace the Aa's and color an alligator. They will have lots of fun activies to help teach them their letters, numbers, shapes and colors.

A fun science game for the children during frog week is the frog match up game. The children will match up the different types of frog cards to the game board.
During frog week the children will also learn the frog life cycle.
The children will make a tadpole, a froglet and a frog for crafts during frog week.
During week 1, storybook week, the childen will read a story about a fish that hears a scarey noise, what is the noise? They will also learn the parts of the fish with the fish anatomy poster which is paper sized, just print out. The children will color the fish anatomy science worksheet.

Circle Time: Sort The Frogs By Color
Day 3
Circle Time
Directions: Print out the small frogs onto different colors of cardstock paper such as blue, green, red, yellow, brown and white.
You will need about 6 different colors and 6 paper circles that are the same colors as the frogs.
Teacher will place all the frogs into a small cloth bag or pillowcase.
Activity: Have the children sit in a circle and take turns picking one frog from the bag and matching it to the same colored circle, such as, if they have a green frog they will put the green frog onto the green circle, etc
Have the children take turns picking a Flower from the floor and holding it up and showing you which letter is on the Flower and then have them match it to the matching letter on the Flower pot and place the Flower inside the Flower pot, repeat with each child.
After they are done with this activity, teacher can mix up the Flower pots and see if the children can help you get them back into the correct alphabetical order.
Story Time: Frog Shared His Food Today - Printable Story
Print out the story. Read the story to the children.

Art Time: Who Did Froggy See? Children Make The Book
This is the cover, this is page 1 of the book craft.
You will need: Four sheets of cardstock paper or construction paper per child and two pieces of white cardstock paper per child.
Directions: Do not glue the frog to the book, he will be left out to jump over the animals just like in the printable story that you read yesterday.
On the cover have each child write his name or for younger children teacher can write each child’s name onto the front of their books.

Educational Activity - The craft above is a fun craft for the kids to do after listening to the story. This story can be used at science time too as it teaches the food chain in a cute way, the frog escaping from all his predators.
Pre Reading: Letters F & G Tracing & Coloring Pages
Directions: Print out the letters F & G onto copy paper; you will need one page per child.
These pages can be found inside the (My ABC Book File) you will find the letters F & G inside this file in week 1’s printable pages.
Have the children trace the letters and color the pictures.
Math: 12 Frogs
Print out the number 12 worksheet onto copy paper. Print out one page per child. Have the children trace the 12’s at the bottom of the page and then have them color the 12 frogs.
The children are learning the number 12 this month.
Next, cut and paste worksheet: Print out the worksheets onto copy paper, you will need one for each child. Teacher will need to cut off the 4 numbers at the bottom of the worksheet, cut out the four boxes.{On the worksheet above the numbers have been cut off and are shown on the side of the worksheet above.}
Before You Pass Out The Worksheet: Teacher will do a math activity with the children to help them to learn how to do the worksheet above and then have them complete the worksheet, instructions for this activity can be found in the lesson plans.
After the math activity above you when then pass out the take home sheet and have the children glue or tape the numbers into the empty boxes on the worksheet into the correct spaces.
Science/Discovery: Frog Life Cycle Poster
Print out the frog life cycle poster in color or in black and white and tape it to the wall. Place it about eye level so the children can view it throughout the day.
Gather the children together and tell them that this week we will be learning about frogs.
Explain to the children that frogs are called amphibians because they live part of their life in water as tadpoles and part of their lives on land as frogs.
Explain to the children that the adult frog lays her eggs in the water and they will hatch into tadpoles that kinda look like tiny fish. As the tadpoles get older they start to grow their back legs and then their front legs. When they have grown their arms and legs but still have their tails they are called froglets. Then the froglet will lose their tail.
Next, Children will make the frog life cycle book.

Educational Activity - This is a nice take home science book for the kids to take home to show mommy and daddy what they are learning at daycare or preschool this week.
Physcial Activity/Gross Motor: Twelve Little Frogs
Twelve little frogs went out one day over the hills and far away,
mama frog croaked come back come back
but only the number one frog came hopping back.
So mama frog croaked once again come back, come back
and the number 2 frog came hopping back.
So mama frog croaked once again come back, come back
and the number 3 frog came hopping back.
Repeat up to number 12 or to the number of children in your group.
Print out the mommy frog onto heavy paper such as white cardstock paper.
There are two mommy frogs to choose from. You can print out the mommy frog in color or print out the black and white mommy frog. If you print out the black and white frog either print it onto colored paper or color the frog after.
Next, tape the mommy frog to a blue bowl or a blue box to be the pond {home} or tape the frog to a toilet paper roll so she will stand up. Place the mommy frog onto the blue towel {pond}.
Have the children pretend to be frogs and give each child a frog card from math time day 5.
Have them hold the frog number card until they hear their number called and then have them hop their frog to a blue box or blue bowl and place it inside the pond. See poem above.
Repeat until all the children have placed their frogs into the pond.
If you have more than 12 children, then print out more of the frog cards and some of the children will have duplicate numbers.
As you call out for all the number one frogs to come back, all the children with the number one frogs will pretend to hop their frogs over to the blue bowl or blue box and drop it inside.
If you have less than 12 children, give each of the children more than one frog card, such as you have 6 children give each child 2 frog cards and have them hop the frog into the pond {home} as you call out their number.
Special Activity: Make Squares & Circles
You will need: You will need: Play dough, toy rolling pins or real rolling pins that are mini ones, mega blocks, large jar covers (from mayo., Peanut butter, etc.) and jumbo craft sticks.
Give each child some play dough and a large mega block and show them how to roll out the play dough or squish it out with their hands and how to push the mega block into the dough to make a square.
Provide the children with some large jar covers and show them how they can push the cover into the play dough to make circles.
This is a fun sensory activity and learning the words circle and square
